The Great Horned Owl gets its name came from the tufts on its head that look like horns. They are usually a mix of reddish brown, gray, white, or black. They are usually 46-63 and a half centimeters in length and 91-152 centimeters in wingspan. They usually weigh 900-1800g. Nesting time is in January and February when the owls try to find a mate. They normally will find abandoned nests or homes of other animals to nest in. Most owls are born in January and February and live between thirteen to thirty-eight years. They can normally be seen late at night or in the early morning. The great horned owl can eat animals two or three times the weight of itself (it eats 235 types of creature). They are aggressive in nature, particularly towards other birds.
